Established Gallery is proud to present Strange Mirror by Latika Sridhar, opening May 9th, 2025, from 7-9 PM. Strange Mirror is the artist’s first solo exhibition.
Strange Mirror explores dissociation and the subconscious thoughts, feelings, and identities that emerge in moments of disconnect. Drawing from personal experiences, Sridhar visualizes dissociation in faces fragmented beyond recognition, reflecting an underlying rupture between who we are and who we think we should be. The process of visually reconstructing these memories transforms them from body horror into something tangible, observable, and even beautiful.
About the artist:
Latika Sridhar is a visual artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Working primarily in oil paint, she creates vibrant portraits, often with surreal elements, that reflect on the nature of personal identity and somatic memory. Her practice is motivated by a desire to know herself fully, even the parts she doesn’t understand, and is predicated on the transformative power of curiosity about the self.
