Established Gallery is proud to present Touching Spells, a solo exhibition by Ella Hepner. This is the artist’s first solo show with Established Gallery and first in New York City. Touching Spells explores occasions of contact: the cataloguing of intimacies in order to differentiate or blend physical proximity and sexual encounter.
About the artist

Ella Hepner is a Brooklyn-based visual artist. Through paintings, prints and drawings, she constructs autobiographical images that capture scenes of humanity and intimacy. She questions the intimacy of physical proximity: is there constant interaction? Is there organic separation? She uses her work as vignettes: stories being told through interaction of bodies or lack thereof.
Hepner has shown work in Pittsburgh, New Mexico and New York City. Most recently, she participated for the second time in The Other Art Fair at ZeroSpace and showed work in the Small Works Group Show at 440 Gallery and Twelve by Twelve at Established Gallery, all in Brooklyn.
